XYZ https://jfas.upnjatim.ac.id/index.php/jfas/article/view/6
ABSTRACT

In the manufacturing industry, quality is very important. To maintain quality, a company must pay close attention to the production processes. In this research, the product under analysis is Orange Juice Syrup. The aim of this study is to determine the quality standards applied by PT. XYZ and identify the factors causing defective products. Total Quality Control (TQC) is employed in analyzing the quality control of Orange Juice Syrup in this research. The research method used is quantitative, with data processing using analysis techniques like the Seven Basic Tools and Kaizen. With the assistance of Microsoft Excel software, the Control Chart (C-Chart) reveals that there are still some products falling outside the control limits. Out of 1000 syrup units produced overall, 99 faults were found based on the histogram that was constructed. According to the cause-and-effect diagram analysis, elements like labor, production equipment, work procedures, materials, and the working environment are the root causes of faults in the manufacturing process. The results of this research are expected to help the company reduce the percentage of defects in Orange Juice Syrup products and enhance the quality standards and overall quality of the product.
Isna Nugraha, Bagas Aryaseta, Tivani Nava Arier, Achmad Gufron Copyright (c) 2024 Journal of Food and Agricultural Science for Lowland and Coastal Area https://jfas.upnjatim.ac.id/index.php/jfas/article/view/6 Fri, 31 May 2024 00:00:00 +0000 WATER QUALITY MANAGEMENT STRATEGIES TO INCREASE THE PRODUCTIVITY OF WHITE SHRIMP (Litopenaeus vannamei) CULTURE https://jfas.upnjatim.ac.id/index.php/jfas/article/view/7
White shrimp (Litopenaeus vannamei) culture has become a part of aquaculture. Proper water quality management is critical to the success and sustainability of shrimp farming operations. This article aims to investigate effective water quality management specifically tailored for Litopenaeus vannamei shrimp farming. Water quality parameters such as temperature, dissolved oxygen level, pH, salinity, and ammonia concentration were monitored to maintain optimal water conditions. Water quality management is critical in reducing disease outbreaks and optimizing growth and survival of shrimp populations.

Keywords: Shrimp culture, Water Quality, Water Quality Management, White Shrimp
Jefri Anjaini, Nilta Akhhil, Alya Nadhilah Shafa, Farsyah Alfineanda Hermawan, Dewi Indriyani Sukaesih, Riki Johan Sitorus, Agung Cahyo Setiawan Copyright (c) 2024 Journal of Food and Agricultural Science for Lowland and Coastal Area https://jfas.upnjatim.ac.id/index.php/jfas/article/view/7 Fri, 31 May 2024 00:00:00 +0000 Application of Trichoderma Organic Fertilizer on Eggplant (Solanum melongena L.) in the Sumber Makmur Rusun Warugunung Farmer Group https://jfas.upnjatim.ac.id/index.php/jfas/article/view/8
Trichoderma, as a living agent, is known to enhance soil fertility and plant resistance to diseases. The research method used a field experiment design with several treatments of Trichoderma organic fertilizer. This study aimed to evaluate the effect of Trichoderma organic fertilizer application on the growth and yield of eggplant (Solanum melongena L.) in the Sumber Makmur Farmer Group, Rusun Warugunung. The research results show that Trichoderma application significantly increased plant height, fruit number, and fruit weight compared to the control (without organic fertilizer). This increase is suspected to be due to Trichoderma's ability to improve soil structure and increase nutrient availability. Therefore, the use of Trichoderma organic fertilizer can be recommended as an alternative to chemical fertilizers for more sustainable and environmentally friendly eggplant cultivation.
Fitri Wijayanti, Elcy Arindra Pricellia, Safira Riska Lestari, Raudah Anggraini Tarigan Copyright (c) 2024 Journal of Food and Agricultural Science for Lowland and Coastal Area https://jfas.upnjatim.ac.id/index.php/jfas/article/view/8 Fri, 31 May 2024 00:00:00 +0000 A REVIEW APPLICATION OF PROBIOTICS IN AQUACULTURE https://jfas.upnjatim.ac.id/index.php/jfas/article/view/9
Average consumption of aquaculture products increases every year. To meet these needs, cultivation activities have been developed into intensified cultivation systems. Unfortunately, intensification of cultivation often causes a decline in environmental conditions which ultimately causes problems in the form of disease. Continuous use of antibiotics can cause pathogenic bacteria to become resistant. So now probiotics have been developed in the field of aquaculture. Probiotics are live microorganisms which, when given in adequate quantities, provide health benefits to the host. This review will discuss the application of probiotics in the field of aquaculture. Several studies have shown the benefits of probiotics, namely as a good growth promoter, inhibiting the growth of pathogens, increasing intestinal absorption and digestion, improving water quality, effects on fish reproduction
Adinda Kurnia Putri, Mahardhika Nur Permatasari, Jefri Anjaini Copyright (c) 2024 Journal of Food and Agricultural Science for Lowland and Coastal Area https://jfas.upnjatim.ac.id/index.php/jfas/article/view/9 Tue, 30 Apr 2024 00:00:00 +0000 EXPLORATION AND IDENTIFICATION OF BIOLOGICAL CONTROL AGENT Trichoderma sp. IN-VITRO FROM BAMBOO PLANT https://jfas.upnjatim.ac.id/index.php/jfas/article/view/10
Plant disease control using biological agents is an effort to control plant diseases without harming the environment. One of the biological agents that is widely used is the Trichoderma sp. It is known that Trichoderma sp. has high antagonism ability against microorganisms that cause plant diseases. In this study, Trichoderma sp. was explored from bamboo plantation soil samples from Surabaya city using a diagonal technique with five composite sample points in each plant area. Isolation was then carried out using the dilution method and continued with the spread plate technique on Potato Dextrose Agar media. In the isolation results, 2 fungal isolates were found that had macroscopic and microscopic characteristics consistent with Trichoderma sp. The macroscopic appearance found is that the hyphae colonies are white to dark green in color which have clear color gradation boundaries, and have rough-looking fibers. The microscopic appearance found was green fialid stem hyphae with an oval-shaped group of conidia.
Dhinda Capah, Safira Rizka Lestari Copyright (c) 2024 Journal of Food and Agricultural Science for Lowland and Coastal Area https://jfas.upnjatim.ac.id/index.php/jfas/article/view/10 Tue, 30 Apr 2024 00:00:00 +0000
